TopicPrep is a practice app for Indian competitive exams. It is operated from India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it.
Who this is for
TopicPrep is not directed at children. Do not create an account if you are under 13. We use a date of birth field during setup so we can keep the product age-appropriate.
What we collect
- Phone number — Indian +91 numbers, verified with a one-time SMS code through Firebase Authentication.
- Profile — name, date of birth, and preferred MCQ language (English or Hindi).
- Study material you upload — PDFs and photos of notes that we store so the app can digitize them and generate practice questions.
- Generated practice data — digitized note text, MCQs, tests, scores, and the exams/topics you create.
How we use it
We use this information only to run TopicPrep: sign you in, store your notes, generate practice questions, show your tests and scores, and enforce account limits. We do not sell your personal information.
Processors we use
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — phone OTP sign-in.
- Neon — hosted PostgreSQL database for your account and study data.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for uploaded note PDFs and photos.
- Google Gemini (and related AI providers we configure) — digitizing notes and generating practice MCQs. Uploaded note content is sent to these services for that purpose.
Where data is stored
Account and file data is stored with the processors above. Some of those services may process data outside India. We keep access limited to operating the app.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your notes (including files in R2), tests, scores, exams, topics, and the TopicPrep user record, and we delete the Firebase Auth user for that phone sign-in.
